Wine Writer Reviews
"Fruit from the ‘Headwaters’ vineyard in the Wairau Valley, cool stainless-steel fermented to 12.0% alc. and dryness. Very pale straw colour with light green hues, this has a fresh, aromatic and lifted nose with white stonefruit, pepper and gentle herbs with some fermentation esters. There is some good depth to the nose. Very dry, very crisp and racy on palate, this has flavours of steely green apples with a citrus and esters lift, and minerally, wet stone notes. The wine is tight and a little unyielding at present, but the fruit weight promises to open out and reveal more given another 6 months in bottle. Drink with sushi and shellfish over the next 2-3+ years."

"It's gently fragrant on the nose displaying green apple, peach, citrus and floral characters. The palate is taut and finely textured with bright acidity providing good structure and length. This would be a lovely match to subtly flavoured seafood dishes. At its best: now to 2014."
-Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2011
"Made in a dry style, the debut 2011 vintage is a medium-bodied wine with a floral bouquet and lemony, slightly spicy flavours, fresh and crisp. In its infancy, it’s hard to pin down clear-cut varietal characters, but bottle-age (and in later years, vine-age) will surely help."
-Michael Cooper, Michael Cooper's Buyer's Guide to New Zealand Wines 2012
"Gruner Veltliner is the new fashion but as yet the vines are young and, for us, it has still to reach its full potential. This particular example displays green apple and citrus aromas and flavours with a crisp acidity and dry finish."
-TiZwine.com, Feb 2012
"Lifted spicy, peppery wine with true varietal character. Vibrant, focused wine in a dry and delicate style. It has an interesting grainy and slightly astringent texture."
