Babich Hawke's Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2010
From our two estate-owned Hawke’s Bay vineyards, this wine offers a variation to the Marlborough style. You can expect tropical fruit characters with a lingering dry finish.

Hawke's Bay
Recommended Food:
It makes a nice partner for a summery ham salad, or a smoked salmon frittata.

Production Notes:
The grapes were crushed and pressed at our Auckland winery upon arrival. To enhance the varietal flavour expression, fermentation took place in refrigerated stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures using a variety of yeasts. After a short time on lees the blend was assembled and bottled.
Technical Notes:

Tasting Notes:
The nose is gently fragrant, displaying pineapple, grapefruit and fresh autumnal apples. The palate is predominantly tropical fruits. There is a touch of green grass and rubbed herbs, and a hint of red currant also. Restrained acids balance the medium weight and creamy texture. Lemon zest and pink grapefruit settle agreeably on the medium length finish.
